Since 1985 I have worked as an independent graphic designer, photographer, and illustrator providing visual communication services to a broad range of corporate, institutional, and non-proﬁt clients. I work to effectively organize ideas and data into relevant and accessible information which is visually communicated using a variety of media. From goal analysis and concept development through the creation of ﬁnal artwork, all aspects of a project are woven together to achieve an engaging and cost-effective expression of meaning.
Marketing communication utilizing offset printing: design and produce annual reports, brochures, catalogs, advertising, posters, book covers, quarterly publications, direct mail programs, press kits, and other collateral promotions.
Logos and visual identity programs: develop compelling visual identities and/or trademarks for companies, organizations, and programs. Implement designs in a variety of applications such as stationary, collateral material, and signage.
Web site development: develop look and feel of site, produce simple pages and create appropriate links. Upload artwork onto server for online access. Routinely produce bitmap artwork for use online such as photographs, type, collages, banners, etc.
Exhibit graphics: design and prepare artwork for large back-lit or reflective panels for use in trade show booths or as permanent displays.
Presentation graphics: design and prepare artwork for use in slide shows, educational and/or sales presentations. Create Acrobat documents for electronic distribution.
Studio and Location photography. Core skills are product photography, especially photographing highly reflective objects, portraiture, landscape, architecture and experimental imagery. Expert in digital and film techniques, using DSLR through 4 x5" cameras. Expert in Lightroom and Photoshop workflows. Film scanning capability.
Postscript and bitmap-based computer illustration, photo-illustration, collage, sculpture.
Knowledgeable in all aspects of production for offset printing. Especially proﬁcient with electronic publishing techniques including page layout, typography, postscript and bitmap based artwork, scanning, color correction, and retouching. Routinely prepare fully composed one to six color press ready projects. Specify materials such as paper, ink, and special processes such as embossing, die cuts, and varnish. Work closely with all printing personnel to assure optimum quality within budget and time parameters. Archive all projects for possible repurposing. Software: ﬂuent with InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
